In the early days of fall, Missions Team and I met to discuss how we could effectively reach Tulare for Christ. Nearly 60% of the county doesn’t know Jesus, and we’re constantly hearing stories that surprise and sadden our souls. Jesus came with good news and great joy; He came to set souls free from the darkness and despair of sin; He came to show us a better way to live; and He came to be present with each one of us. Many haven’t a clue, so, we’ve made it our mission to reach out to our community and spread the good news of Christ.
Just this morning, one of the leaders from Missions accompanied me as we set off to get to know and pray for our neighbors. We’ve narrowed down a Motel on K Street, where the owners are people of peace and receptive to the Gospel. They’ve graciously allowed us to pray for them and their residents, but also to go from room to room, offering prayer, a listening ear, and anything else that may be of service. This Tuesday (December 11), we’ll be meeting at the church at 10am, and then we’ll go back to this friendly motel to get to know and minister to the people. Jesus has blessed us tremendously. This is our opportunity to bless others and be the hands and feet of Christ.

Good news and great joy isn’t just a sentiment nor a statement - it’s the results of Jesus. Keep us in your prayers, and may you experience His good news this Christmas.
