Lately we’ve been seeing Tulare a little differently. Last week we went out and took pictures around town, the overlooked corners, the mess, the things people pass by, and right next to it, moments of real beauty. Light hitting something just right. Life where you didn’t expect it. It’s all there, side by side.
The more we sat with it, the more it felt familiar. Because that is not just our city, that is us. That is our stories. Broken places and beautiful ones, often closer together than we realize. And that is exactly where God chooses to meet people. Not after everything is cleaned up, but right in the middle of it.
That is what the church is meant to be. A place where grace meets the mess. A people who know what it means to be found, restored, and made new, and who make room for others to experience the same.
So as we step into everything ahead, VBS, worship nights, art nights, serving, gathering, this is really what we are doing. We are making space. Space for kids, for neighbors, for each other, to be met by God right where they are.
Because He is already there.
