One idiom that I have found to be very true in my own life is “seek and you will find” from Mathew 7:7. When I look for reasons to be happy and the wonders of God’s love I have noticed that they are abundant in my life. People sometimes think that divine intervention is only when great miracles happen, but God is also present in our day to day activities. In Psalm 119:9-10 it is written “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” Sometimes these sightings of God’s love in my life are so beautiful I feel the need to share them with my friends.
In one of my favorite verses, the Psalmist writes “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done” (Psalm 118:17) and what a great gift it is to be able to proclaim these great things! Many times I have found myself encouraged by what God reminds me of in these moments and I am glad to be able to share it with those around me. Even those “obvious” aspects of God’s love for us might have been forgotten by a brother or sister in Christ and hearing it in your everyday encounter might give them the courage to stay strong in faith.
Another great aspect about sharing what God is doing in your day to day life is that friends love to celebrate with you. In Psalm 20:5 it is written “May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.” If you’re happy about the little ways things have been going well in life, there’s a good chance that your friends will be happy along with you.
So keep your eyes and heart open to look for God’s love in daily living; life is so much better with his presence.
